Moving Forward

Fighting stance, left leg forward.

  1. Slide forward. Left leg is forward. Oi tsuki.
  2. Step forward. Right leg is now forward. Oi tsuki.
  3. Turn to your right. The back left leg comes around so it’s now the front leg facing right. Oi tsuki, Gyaku tsuki.
  4. Jump back towards the front switching legs so your right leg is now forward. Oi tsuki, Gyaku tsuki.
  5. Switch. Left leg is now forward. Oi tsuki.
  6. Slide forward. Left leg is still forward. Oi tsuki.
  7. Switch. Right leg is now forward. Oi tsuki.
  8. Repeat sequence but now starting with the right leg forward. Note that because you are starting on the right the turn in move 3. will now mean turning to the left.

Ushiro (backwards)

Assuming you finished the forward sequences ending with left leg forward.

  1. Push back. Left leg still forward. Oi tsuki.
  2. Step back. Right leg is forward. Oi tsuki.
  3. Turn to the left as if evading a kick. Move the back leg around whilst parrying a block with the right hand. Left hand covering.
  4. Immediately mawasha geri with the back left leg towards the front. Left leg will now be in front when landing from the kick.
  5. Switch. Oi tsuki.
  6. Slide back. Oi tsuki.
